Multifamily Housing Painting Bid Project

Showcase Projects Virtually for More Efficient & Competitive Bidding

Ottawa Community Housing (OCH) provides approximately 15,000 homes to over 32,000 tenants, including seniors, parents, children, couples, singles and persons with special needs, within many communities across the City of Ottawa. OCH is the largest social housing provider in Ottawa, managing two-thirds of the City’s social housing portfolio, and is the second largest in Ontario.

As such, OCH coordinates and manages countless renovation projects per year to maintain its portfolio of properties. OCH has adopted using 3D virtual tours to capture and showcase bid projects with contractors virtually. This enables OCH to save time and money by eliminating in-person site visits and garnering more competitive bids from a wider range of contractors.

3D Virtual Tour
All areas of the project work scope were included in a 3D virtual tour. The virtual tour helped contractors learn how much work would be required to price their tender bid well. Ultimately used by all project stakeholders, the 3D Tour has a number of uses including serving as an initial site survey, site visit alternative, spot measurement tool, and for visual confirmations of as-built conditions.
